Shook! Shanghai named 'Best Modern Restaurant' by Modern Weekly

Shook Shanghai was named 'Best Modern Restaurant' by Modern Weekly at the Modern Weekly 2011 Best Restaurants Awards.

The open-concept kitchen opened its doors in July last year and was rated No. 1 restaurant in Shanghai by TripAdvisor. It occupies the penthouse floor of The Swatch Art Peace Hotel, a Renaissance-style 1906 heritage landmark on the Bund. The glorious view of The Bund is an added incentive to make Shook! your must-visit restaurant while in Shanghai.

Commenting on the award, James Mcbride, President of YTL Hotels said: "It is indeed a great honour for Shook! Shanghai to have been awarded "Best Modern Restaurant" at the Modern Weekly 2011 Best Restaurants Awards. Shook!'s distinctive concept in an iconic landmark that is The Swatch Art Peace Hotel, makes for a truly unforgettable dining experience. Its uniquely designed open-kitchen conveys the feel of "dining without borders" - intimate, nothing hidden, open to all."

Helmed by Executive Chef Kevin Cape, Shook!'s open culinary theatre comprises four master chefs and four distinct cuisines. The unique menu features whispers of Chinese, Japanese, Southeast Asian and modern Western cuisines, yet is flexible enough to transport you anywhere your heart and palate desires. Signature dishes include snow white dancing prawns (stir-fried prawns with hot mayonnaise sprinkled with honey-glazed walnuts), confit of slow-cooked salmon, and cajun-style sea bass.
